Dr Hafiz Ather Hussain

Dr. Hafiz Ather Hussain al-Azhari, an esteemed Imam, author, and researcher, offers insightful seminars on Islam, drawing from his deep knowledge acquired at al-Azhar University in Cairo. His journey in Islamic education began with memorizing the Qur’an at thirteen, followed by specialized studies in Hadīth at al-Azhar. Graduating with honors in Political Science from the University of Birmingham, he later earned his MPhil and PhD in Theology, focusing on seminal Islamic texts. Dr. Hafiz Ather enriches Muslim understanding and practice worldwide through his scholarly pursuits.

Dr Shaykh Shahrul Hussain

Dr. Shahrul Hussain, a scholar of Islamic jurisprudence and law, blends traditional learning with modern academia. After graduating from Al-Azhar University, he pursued a PhD at the University of Aberdeen, specializing in applied jurisprudence. As an educator, Shahrul Hussain has lectured extensively on Islamic studies, emphasizing rigorous research and teaching. Passionate about fostering nuanced understanding, he welcomes collaborations and supports aspiring researchers in exploring Islam’s evolving role in contemporary society.

Ustadah Alima Ashfaq

Ustadah Alima Ashfaq, an Islamic educator and devoted mother, brings her extensive knowledge of Quranic studies to Barakah Madrassa in Sheffield, UK. With over fifteen years of study and ijazah in Hafs Al-‘Asim, she enriches her teaching with a deep understanding of Islamic principles. Actively involved in community organizations, including Al Maghrib and The Muslim Council of Britain, Alima Ashfaq is committed to promoting Islamic education and community engagement. As Vice-Chair of Maternity Voices, she demonstrates her dedication to both her faith and community welfare.

Hafiz Emad Choudhury

Hafiz Emad Choudhury, an Imam and dedicated police officer, embodies the values of service and community engagement. Raised in Birmingham, he memorized the Qur’an at a young age and now serves as an Imam at the Bahu Trust, drawing inspiration from his upbringing. Balancing his roles as a police officer and Imam, Emad delivers impactful sermons and facilitates community safety initiatives rooted in Islamic principles. Committed to fostering unity and service, he plays a vital role in enhancing community welfare and security.
